Scientific surveys from the last 4 decades have recorded stocks of in excess of 1 million tons of horse mackerel in Oman’s Arabian Sea coastal waters. Until this time, no commercial fishing activity has specifically targeted this resource. Al Wusta has an exclusive fishing license to fish for these species in Omani waters.
